“Hi, I’m Peyton Sachs!

I don't sketch anything out before I start, I just stand in front of a blank canvas and let whatever's inside me find its way to the surface. I never went to art school, never learned the rules, so I don't have anything to unlearn either; it's just me, some paint, and whatever brushes I've got lying around. My work isn't about looking good or being technically right, it's about being honest. I've lived in Vegas, LA, and now New York, and I think that's given me a strange front-row seat to how people perform happiness while quietly falling apart, and that tension is what keeps showing up in my paintings whether I plan it or not. I'm still figuring out what my style even is, and honestly I hope I never fully figure it out. The second this stops feeling raw and starts feeling like a formula is the second I'll know I've lost the thing that made me pick up a brush in the first place.”
