“Hi, I’m Ethan Minsker!
My visual art revolves around the concept of upcycling, where I breathe new life into what might otherwise be considered trash. Working primarily in mixed media, I incorporate materials such as papier-mâché, cardboard from shipping boxes, cans, plastic bottles, chapsticks, and a variety of other discarded containers. I aim to transform these overlooked and discarded objects into something precious once more. The pieces presented here span different collections but are unified by themes of childlike wonder, tinged with a touch of melancholy. Through this interplay of joy and sadness, I invite viewers to reconsider the value of what we so easily throw away.”
